Terms of Service

Everything on this page constitutes Terms of Service for alsomatters.com (later referred to as Terms), which is an agreement between Also Matters ("we", "us", or "our"), operated by the sole proprietor, registered at Dalsgatan 13, 602 32 Norrköping, Sweden, and its user ("you" or "your"). The section headings used herein are for convenience only and shall NOT be given any legal import.

By using our Services (as defined below), you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and that you agree to be bound by them. If you do NOT agree to be bound by these Terms you may NOT use our Services.

Furthermore, you confirm the following:

  • You are at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • If you are younger than eighteen (18) years of age, or otherwise do NOT have the authority to enter into agreements such as these Terms, you confirm that your legal guardian, or a holder of parental responsibility, has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
  • You are NOT in a country under International Sanctions adopted by the United Nations (UN) or the European Union (EU).

If you refuse to confirm anything or everything of the above you may NOT use our Services.

Definitions

In these Terms, the following definitions apply:

  • "Services" means the digital informational resource Also Matters, and any accompanying digital services offered on alsomatters.com.
  • "Content" means all materials, including but not limited to text, images, audio, and video, that are part of the Services and are hosted on alsomatters.com.
  • "External Content" means materials hosted externally, for example provided via links, embeds, or iframes. External Content is NOT included in the Content.
  • "public search engine" means any search engine available to anyone free of charge.

Scope

These terms apply to you if you access or use our Services.

All Content provided through the Services is for the sole purpose of being informative. The Content is NOT and should NOT be used or relied upon as medical, legal, financial or other advice.

All Content provided through the Services is owned by Also Matters. You are granted a non-exclusive, revocable license to access, view, print, or download the Content for personal, non-commercial use only.

This license is automatically terminated for the outdated versions of Content when we update, modify or remove such Content. Any outdated Content that you saved or printed may be retained by you for personal, non-commercial use only. However, this retention does NOT imply a transfer of ownership rights to any version of Content.

By retaining access to previously copied or printed Content, you acknowledge the following:

  • You do NOT have the right to reproduce, modify, distribute, or reuse any Content without our prior written permission.
  • You will NOT use any Content for commercial purposes or in a way that would violate Also Matters' intellectual property rights.

Prohibited Uses

You undertake to NOT use the Services and/or the Content for any illegal or abusive purposes, and you agree that you may NOT:

  • reproduce, modify, copy, distribute, or reuse any or all parts of the Content without our prior written permission;
  • use any or all parts of the Content for any commercial purpose, or for any public display (commercial or non-commercial);
  • use any or all parts of the Content for the development of any software program, model, artificial intelligence (AI), algorithm, or generative AI model/tool;
  • use any or all parts of the Content for training or operation of a machine learning or AI system, including any use of the Content for training, fine-tuning, or grounding the machine learning or AI system or as part of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG);
  • transfer the Content to another person or "split" or "mirror" the Content on any other server;
  • cache or archive the Content (except for a public search engine’s use of web spiders for creating search indices solely for the inclusion of links and short, non-AI synthesised snippets of the Content in search results);
  • use automatic programs or scripts, including but not limited to web spiders, crawlers, robots, ants, indexers, bots, viruses or worms or other programs that may make multiple server requests per second, or that unnecessarily burden or hinder the operation and/or performance of the Services (except for a public search engine's use of web spiders, as detailed previously);
  • reproduce or access the Services to design or create a competing product or service, a product or service that uses similar ideas, features, functions or graphics as the Services, or copy any ideas, features, functions or graphics from the Services;
  • attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software used by the Services;
  • disrupt or obstruct the Services’ capacity or performance or data contained in it, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services or its related systems or networks;
  • attempt to do damage to us or the Services in any way;
  • perform text and data mining activities under Art. 4 of the EU Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market.

Limitation of Liability

You understand and agree that the Services may be subject to occasional errors, delays, or other disruptions. We make NO warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the functionality, availability, or compatibility of the Services. However, we commit to using our best efforts to minimise the errors and ensure the smooth operation of the Services.

You also understand and agree that we shall NOT be liable for any damages arising from the use of the Services, including but NOT limited to:

  • direct damages
  • indirect damages
  • special damages
  • punitive damages
  • incidental damages
  • consequential damages
  • any damage caused by malware, viruses or other incorrect or incomplete information, unless such damage arises because of intent or gross negligence on our part

Also Matters shall have NO liability for economic, legal, medical or other decisions based on the information provided. It is your responsibility to evaluate the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any Content. Please secure the advice of professionals, as appropriate, regarding the evaluation of any specific information, opinion or advice presented through the Content.

External Content Policy

The Services may provide access or references to External Content. By using our Services, you acknowledge that:

  • Our endorsement of the External Content is limited to the specific content being referenced and reviewed at the time of publication.
  • Also Matters does NOT review the entire website or platform hosting External Content neither at the time of publication nor in future. We do NOT endorse any advertisements, promotional materials, or other content on the External Content website that may be unrelated to the specific content being referenced.
  • We do NOT review or update the External Content continuously, and it may no longer be valid or relevant in future.

Your use of third-party web sites or platforms is at your own risk. You agree that by accessing External Content through one of our links, you are leaving alsomatters.com and subjecting yourself to the terms and conditions of the referenced third-party website.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be interpreted and applied in accordance with Swedish law. Before either you or we initialise a lawsuit, both parties agree to act cooperatively and in good faith when attempting to resolve any disputes that may arise from these Terms. Both parties agree to attempt negotiating a settlement to any dispute within sixty (60) working days from the first notification about the dispute (by either party).

If the dispute is not resolved within sixty (60) working days, either party may seek the resolution in a general court of law, with Stockholm District Court as the court of first instance, unless otherwise specified by mandatory legislation.

Termination

We reserve a right to block your access to our Services at any time and without notice if one or more of the following applies:

  • You have breached these Terms.
  • We suspect that you may be using the Services in a way that could harm our community, reputation, or interests.

Force majeure

Events such as war, natural disasters, labour market strikes, government decisions, currency restrictions, fire, power outages, general goods shortages, strikes, lockouts, non-deliveries from suppliers, difficult circumstances and similar events beyond our control that could NOT be foreseen shall be classified as force majeure. This means that in case of force majeure which occurs after the effectiveness of the Terms, the affected parties (either you, or we, or both) are exempted from any obligations under these Terms.

Changes to These Terms

We may modify or change these Terms at any time, without prior notice. Your continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
